Marie Rice President
Marie Rice is a professional development specialist with 20 years consulting experience in leadership development, training, coaching, performance improvement programs and career transition services that enhance individual and organizational success. Her broad base of public and private sector industry experience helps her connect with each client to ensure advancement and success within their organizations.
Engaging and informative, Marie develops rapport and trust easily with staff at all levels of the organization resulting in an environment conducive for learning and change. Marie partners with each client to build the necessary skills to achieve desired results.
Prior to entering into consulting, Marie’s corporate experience includes senior management roles with national and international organizations. She has held positions as Director of Corporate Communications and National Training Manager for a retail chain of over 60 locations across Canada, Western Regional Sales Manager for one of North America's major window covering manufacturers, and National Sales Manager of Home Furnishings for a major department store chain.
Kristine Majlath Vice-President
Kristine Majlath is a Marketing Professional with Buckland & Taylor, a specialized bridge engineering firm, providing services to clients worldwide.
Valued for her professional insight, resourcefulness and ability to deliver on tight deadlines, Kristine takes on a key role in various tasks within Business Development and Marketing including proposal preparation, attendance at conferences as an exhibitor, monitoring bid opportunities and maintaining the website. She works closely with all members of the Buckland & Taylor team, including Principals, Engineers and fellow Marketing staff.
Prior to joining Buckland & Taylor, she worked at firm providing an Employee and Family Assistance Program as Account Management Coordinator, where she presented to clients, exhibited at wellness seminars and coordinated client accounts at a regional level.
Previously, Kristine held the position of Secretary and Treasurer on the CSMPS Board. For the 2013/2014 year, she is the Vice President.
Melissa Pauliuk Secretary and Treasurer
Creative marketing and communications professional with over eight years of progressive experience developing marketing and communication strategies, brand management, campaign management, event production, public relations and social media.
Results-orientated, I have a documented history of managing integrated, high-impact, successful projects and events aimed towards consumers, business and government. I value strong interpersonal relationships and am capable of working collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders, as well as independently.
This is Melissa's first year on the CSMPS Board.
Angela Kirkham Director
Angela Kirkham is a business development professional with a decade of experience in the engineering/construction, healthcare and technology sectors. In her current role as Chief Marketing Officer for Fēnix Energy, Angela oversees all of Fēnix sales, marketing and communication activities.
Never happy with the status quo Angela believes there is always room for improvement and applies this philosophy to both her personal and professional life. With a passion for integrating sales and marketing efforts, some of Angela’s favourite work includes developing communication strategies, brand management and repositioning; launching new products and services and implementing proposal processes for large cross-functional teams.
Angela is the immediate CSMPS Past-President, having served for two consecutive terms from 2011 – 2013.
Dorothy Sitek Director
Dorothy is the CSMPS lead on program development and welcomes program suggestions any time.
She has twenty years’ experience in marketing communications and is a crisis communications expert. Her new firm’s breadth of service reflects Dorothy’s experience garnered in both corporate and non-profit settings in a vast array of sectors. Generation Communications specializes in professional services and clients range from engineering, architecture and development to green energy, health and consumer.
Before launching her own firm, Dorothy led the BC office of Global award-winning PR giant Weber Shandwick Worldwide where she grew the business by over 300% during her tenure while developing award-winning programs for clients. WSW-Vancouver clients included Golder Associates, SNC Lavalin, Cannon Design, Fast+Epp, among many others.
Dorothy is currently the PR Chair of the 2014 Urban Land Institute’s Spring Meeting and is an active volunteer in her community.
Amanda Leier Director
Amanda Leier is a marketing coordinator for Hughes Condon Marler Architects, a passionate, innovative and considerate architecture firm that believes in enhancing and delighting the communities they live and work in. She is responsible for generating creative, compelling and engaging ideas and solutions to secure work through proposals, client communications, social media campaigns, website updates and trade show exhibits.
Her leadership and attention to detail have helped her design and coordinate proposals that have secured work with a combined construction budget of $142.5 million in 2013 alone. In past positions, Amanda helped secure grants ranging from £25,000 to £1million for an expanded art program and new HIV Centre for patients at an East London hospital, has managed an 140-person office and has chaired entertainment, sustainability and philanthropic committees.
Amanda thrives on collaborations with colleagues, clients and the public, and is known for her ability to nurture relationships. She applies her creative problem solving skills to tasks big and small. This is her first year as a CSMPS Board Member.
